This is as pictured. Mine worked fine. The buzz/whine they talk about is a lot louder than I expected. The cable glows a nice soft red, but unfortunately this doesn't "throw" much light. So if you wanted to use it as a bit of hidden feature lighting or similar, it won't do the job. However if you want to make some visual highlighting that will be in sight, this will do the job.
