Looped back with a PL2303 (also from bg, also probably not genuine) at a variety of baud rates up to 3000000 and they work reliably. Silk screen labels are a little odd (unusual abbreviations) but it appears to be a slight modification of the SparkFun design and presents full 9-wire RS323 signals. Slightly annoying that it has a _mini_ USB connector instead of a more common micro or full size, but it's documented and fine. Works great with the mainline Linux kernel drivers, YMMV with FTDI vendor
